Our first press release on Rahill-Bonanza, which announced the creation of the joint venture, occurred on December 4, 2006. At that time, the unshakeable wisdom of the rumour mill held that a quick profit could be made by savvy investors anticipating the likelihood of a certain corporate transaction involving Premier and this coveted joint venture. From management’s standpoint, we have always viewed Rahill-Bonanza as a unique opportunity to participate in the next transformative high grade discovery in the Red Lake District. We have always understood that a potential discovery would likely require patience and persistence. The High Grade Zone discovery was made 50 years after production first began at the original Dickenson Mine in 1945. While we have no desire to wait 50 years for a future discovery, we continue to be rewarded with our patience at the Rahill-Bonanza Joint Venture.

Today, we provided an update of recent 2015 drill results that included one d… Read More...

Today we have released a significant update on the Hasaga Porphyry target portion of our exploration program at Hasaga. We are getting very quick turnaround on our samples, resulting in a lot of newsworthy assays. We have accomplished a lot in a relatively short period of time in 2015 and are generating solid results.

Its cannot be overstated that we are still at a very early stage at Hasaga, despite the more than 60,000 metres of drilling that will be completed by the end of the year. The intercept composites that are summarized in Table 1 of the press release are highlighting higher grade intervals within overall horizons of mineralized material that often exceed 100 metres in core length.

We are developing a very preliminary block model of a “mineral inventory” which will help us understand the internal nature of this mineralization both at Hasaga and at the Central Zone. What is the likely orientation of these higher grade intervals? What kind of continuity are we seeing from section to section? What mechan… Read More...

As the end of November approaches, we realize just how quickly the year has passed. While our exploration programs are still very active in Ontario and Nevada, we have spent a considerable amount of time recently planning for 2016.

Our largest exploration program in 2015 has been conducted at Hasaga, where we will complete some 60,000 metres of drilling on the Central Zone, Hasaga Porphyry and other exploration targets. We anticipate winding our drilling down in mid-December and spend the final few weeks of the month integrating outstanding assays into our database. Before drilling begins in 2016, we will revise our litho-structural and block models, while also resetting our expectations for the coming year.

We have selectively taken advantage of opportunities to enhance our property portfolio in 2015, and in an earlier blog described why the original Hasaga transaction made sense to us. Today we have announced a property acquisition from Pure Gold Mining Inc. which increases the Hasaga Property by some 500-hectares to about 1200-hectares in size. This latest pr… Read More...

Recently, Premier personnel and our Board of Directors convened in Nevada to refresh our 5-year plan, discuss potential opportunities and to participate in our second South Arturo joint venture meeting. We also arranged a visit to the South Arturo Property for our Board (See Facebook for Photos) and piggy-backed onto it tours of Barrick’s Goldstrike roaster and newly-constructed TCM (Total Carbonaceous Material) processing facility.

The joint venture meeting provided information that continues to support our previous guidance (see July 28th, 2015 press release), but in addition, provided an update of drilling results from ongoing exploration programs. Exploration drilling at South Arturo is providing exceptional results in the underground target area immediately below the Phase 2 pit. This horizon is not part of current mineral resources, but is being evaluated as a potential multi-year underground extension following mining in the initial pit. The Carlin Trend is world-renowned for high-grade gold, and this drilling supports this potential on the JV property.

There is always something particularly exciting about undertaking an initial exploration program on a property. At Hasaga, this is certainly the case. In the wake of the High Grade Zone discovery in the mid-1990s, the Red Lake Mining District has continued to generate excitement. One of our peer companies, Rubicon Minerals, is commissioning the newest mine in 2015 and Goldcorp is generating renewed excitement along the Mine Trend at HG Young.

At Premier, we have confidence that our commitment to aggressive exploration in Red Lake will continue that legacy. Our town hall meeting in Red Lake made it clear to us that many also feel the same way. Our initial approach to evaluate Hasaga is based on the simple premise that the property has lacked committed systematic exploration for nearly two generations, despite its production history and attractive geological framework.

Drilling to-date suggests persistent near surface gold mineralization is widespread at Hasaga. In the Central Zone, we have intersected characteristic alteration and mineralization in every hole dril… Read More...

Welcome shareholders and potential shareholders to our redesigned and refreshed website. In communicating on the web, people around the world have migrated from using primarily desktop and laptop computers to now being increasingly mobile [device] dominated. Our website redesign has concentrated on both simplifying and enhancing the user experience from this perspective. In addition, we have improved your accessibility to us. This “C-Suite Blog” and our “Ideas and Prospects” sections complement our Twitter and Facebook feeds. We have reduced the density of text on the site in favour of richer graphics and more focussed communication. All the information you seek is very easy to find.

Early in 2015, Premier secured a financing path at Hardrock and bolstered our balance sheet with the agreement to Joint Venture the Trans-Canada Property with Centerra Gold Inc. At that time, we also secured another key asset in Red Lake (Hasaga) to explore in search of the next Hardrock, while also streamlining our overall pr… Read More...
